Clineva Urgent Care Centers has a current opportunity for a Physician position in Orange County, California. Our ideal candidate is board certified in Family or Internal Medicine with a California State Medical License (Physician) and DEA Certificate. BLS Certification required and ACLS preferred. Additionally, the candidate must be willing to work shifts including one weekend a month, and be proficient with EMR and have minimum 1-3 years experience in an urgent care setting.

You must be driven to provide the best customer service with a focused desire to improve the healthcare experience for every patient, every time. Excellent communication and patient relation skills are required. Experience with electronic medical records and the ability to work within an environment of continual but logical change are required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess, plan and treat patient needs within an urgent care setting and triage patients to differentiate between immediate and less urgent care.
  • Effectively manage private, pre-employment, and workers comp patients.
  • Ensure proper diagnosis, handling, and recovery.
  • Order labs, tests, injections, referrals and prescribe medications.
  • Perform digital blocks, and regional anesthesia. Perform minor outpatient surgical procedures such as tendon repair, wound closure and management, incision and drainage, and needle biopsy.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as aspirations and injection of joints, bursas, and cysts. Perform closed reductions of fractures and dislocations. Apply and modify braces, casts, splints, and other orthopedic appliances.
  • Order, collect and perform appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies, such as routine laboratory tests, EMG, electrocardiograms, and radiological examinations including arthrogram practices, and procedures set forth by the government, Board of Directors, as well as clients.
  • May supervise Physician Assistants to assure compliance of all applicable regulations. If applicable, instruct and direct the physician assistant in the assistant’s duties, oversee and check the assistant’s work and provide general direction to the assistant.
  • Participate in required Sullivan Courses and perform CME credits to maintain license.
  • Consult with other physicians on medical care of patients.
  • Take patient histories and vital signs as necessary.
  • Communicate patient needs, diagnosis, and course of treatment to the patient, company, as well as other clinical staff and instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicable.
  • Create an individualized plan of care based on physical, psychosocial and age specific assessments of the patient, as well as patient’s input and history.
  • Delegate work appropriately to other caregivers and insures accuracy of delegated work.
  • Maintain an adequate patient flow on-site by directing assisting clinical staff.
  • Maintain quality assurance of charts and testing.
  • Handle telephone calls about services rendered from company accounts, patients, physicians, as well as other staff.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation to staff, insurance carriers and companies.
  • Maintain patient records for clinical use, medical records use, billing use, physicians review, etc.
  • Serve as a resource person for other clinical staff.
  • Help produce and maintain patient education instruction hand-outs.
  • Attend client site visits.
  • Attend required provider meetings.
  • Accept and assume responsibility for special projects as they arise and all other duties assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Successful completion of residency program in area of specialty.
  • Must possess a current license to practice medicine in the state of California and DEA license.
  • Knowledge of advanced medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of basic ER, internal medicine, generalist, occupational medicine, and family practice procedures.
  • Ability to use the necessary equipment such as the nebulizer, EKG machine, etc.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written. Spanish a plus.
  • An exceptional communicator, orally and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively and courteously deal with patients and families, clients, coworkers, clinical staff and physicians.

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of computer function and basic office equipment.
  • Responsible for personal actions, positive action upon feedback from others.

Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

We are currently looking for a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to provide primary and episodic care to patients, whether independently and/or in collaboration with other medical professionals. The physician assistant/nurse practitioner will function as a member of clinical team in maintaining patient flow and maximizing the delivery of quality care to patients. Great emphasis is placed on health promotion and/or disease prevention through patient education and coordination of care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow protocols which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing care.
  • Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent presentation.
  • Select, order and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.
  • Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with likely diagnoses included.
  • Write orders on physician order sheet for tests, procedures and the implementation and management of therapies in accordance with medical nursing protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician.
  • Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gases, radiology, EKG, etc. in collaboration with supervising physician.
  • Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Certified as a physician assistant/nurse practitioner with current state licensure.
  • Skilled in traditional nursing disciplines of patient assessment and management.
  • Two years previous professional nursing experience with 1-3 years experience as a practicing physician assistant/nurse practitioner.

Xray Technician

We are currently looking for a X-Ray Technician to perform radiologic examinations following established procedures for patient care and safety, whether independently and/or in collaboration with other medical professionals. The X-Ray Technician will function as a member of clinical team in maintaining patient flow and maximizing the delivery of quality care to patients. Additionally, light front desk work, answering phones and registering patients is expected.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Takes X-Rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
  • Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to Department Head.
  • Logs radiologic procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  • Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  • Performs basic nursing duties to ensure good patient flow.
  • Responsible for packaging, signing of medical records release forms & logging X-Rays.
  • Ensures all radiographs achieve a radiographic interpretation by clarifying discrepancies.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum high school degree or equivalent.
  • ARRT or equivalent.
  • Appropriate state licensure for nuclear safety.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written.

  • Excellent communication skills with providers, staff, management, patients and companies.

OTHER SKILLS

  • Proficient knowledge of X-Ray procedures and protocols.

  • Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correcting or notifying team leader.
  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families.
  • Able to withstand physical & mental demands: standing, walking, stooping, bending. Requires ability to move equipment and transfer patients. Occasional stress in working with tense patients.
